Hahaha, some guy yesterday tried to get into my apartment because he thought it was his. My door was locked and he tried to open it, then I heard him say, "Hoooney!" and he tried using his key. I opened the door and he took a step forward, then stopped and just stared at me. I was like, "Dude. This is not your apartment." He looked inside, looked at me all confused for a few seconds and then said, "I feel retarded now. Bye." Hahahahaha.

He didn't seem drunk, but I had such little interaction with him that I couldn't tell for sure. How else do you go to the completely wrong apartment?! I hope he found his home and his wife alright.

Can you imagine if the door wasn't locked? I would have loved to see his reaction if it was unlocked and he just walked in, saw me sitting there and realized it wasn't his place. Or what if I wasn't home? How long would he stand outside trying to open the door with his key? How confused would he be?? Hahaha. This amuses me so much.

That's really strange. Maybe he was just having a bad day? lol, I dunno.

The same sort of thing has happened to me before, but I was living in the dorms at work. My then boyfriend and I were in our room watching tv and the guy who lived down the hall walked right in and stood there stupidly, but he was super drunk and had no idea what he was doing. He was very apologetic when he realized he just walked into the wrong room, but it was still weird. I always locked our door after that.

Haha, I wonder if he remembered doing that! Did you talk to/see him after that and make fun of him for it?

This seems to be a regular thing at our apartment complex, lol. A lady moved into the apartment across from us and has tried to go into the apartment one floor below hers twice now. And another time some guy turned our door nob trying to get in. We thought it was the lady, but my hubby checked it out and it was actually a guy that just moved in a couple doors down from ours and got the aparmtents mixed up. He thought it was his and tried to just walk in.

Because of where we use to live, robberies happened all of the time, we always keep our door locked. And when we first moved in here a neighbor was telling me how someone knocked on her door. She looked in the peep hole and saw it was Mormons and she pretended like she wasn't home. Then they actually tried to see if the door was unlocked like they were going to welcome themselves in. So strange, so I keep my door locked all of the time, you never know. And some people actually target homes that they know military wives are home alone, kind of scary.

So strange! I get that apartments all look the same, but if you LIVE there wouldn't you know which one is yours? And if you just moved in wouldn't you be more careful in finding your own door?

We get the Mormons here, too. They live in another building and switch out every so often, so then the new guys come around every several months. Our peep hole is too high for me to see out of at all (I'm not that short, it's just strangely high!), so I have a little step stool that I keep by the door so I can see who's out there and avoid Mormons or solicitors. Gotta be all quiet when I move it when someone comes to the door, haha.
